Money is not a taboo subject!

Are you the female founder that lowers your voice when the conversation turns to money? I see it constantly with women building businesses — the pricing conversation gets quieter, the revenue goal gets vaguer, the negotiation gets softer, almost apologetic. As ithough the desire to be paid well is a character flaw that needs managing. It isn't. Money is not a taboo subject or a moral test. It's a tool that allows you to hire, reinvest and to build a lasting legacy. Talking about money with a steady voice tells other founders that you're someone who takes her own business seriously enough to talk about it like a business. This week, try saying one number out loud without the caveat, the discount-before-they-ask, or the nervous laugh after it. It's YOUR rate. YOUR goal. YOUR ask. Say the number. What's one money conversation you've been avoiding or softening? Respond in the comments below. Let's have a chat and initiate a positive change.
